A Coastal Dream:
Andy & Rebecca’s Story

Beautiful open cenote
Four years ago, Andy and Rebecca traded Wisconsin’s chilly winters for the sun-soaked shores of Chuburná Puerto, a tranquil village on Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. They were drawn to its small-town charm—where neighbors greet you by name and the quiet beach feels like your own—and its distance from tourist crowds. The 40-minute drive to Mérida’s lively markets, restaurants, and modern conveniences offered the perfect blend of peace and accessibility. The area’s endless cenotes, ancient Mayan ruins, and prime fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and nearby ría made Chuburná Puerto irresistible.

They found Casa Bahia Verde, a beachfront property with a private pool and detached guest suite, and transformed it entirely. With a full remodel, they added beauty and functionality—think solar panels, rooftop lounging, and lush gardens bursting with bougainvillea and palms, curated by Rebecca’s green thumb. Every corner reflects their vision of a tropical haven. For four years, they shared this paradise with guests, who raved about the serenity and beauty. “We wanted others to feel the magic of this place—the calm, the beauty, the way it slows time,” Rebecca says, her voice mingling with the waves.

Now, with family calling them back to the States, they’re ready to hand Casa Bahia Verde to its next owner. “This isn’t just a house,” Andy says, gazing at the turquoise horizon. “It’s a lifestyle—perfect for dreamers, adventurers, or investors for its rental potential.” They hope the new owners will swim in cenotes, wander Mayan ruins, cast lines into the Gulf, and cherish the home they poured their hearts into. “We’ve lived our dream here,” Rebecca adds. “Now it’s someone else’s turn to make it theirs.”
